      Program Manager Interview

      19 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at GRID Alternatives in Jan 2025

      Interview

Phone screen went fine, second interview with (3) people went really well, and the final with another (3) people went incredibly smooth as well. The questions were very unique which I appreciated because you can only answer "so why do you think you're a good fit for this position" so many times before wanting to scream. My disappointment in this process stems from the several times I was given an ETA for a decision. Waiting an additional almost 2 weeks after a final only to get an email with zero feedback is just really unfortunate.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

You are tasked with planning a panel of 3-4 guest speakers for the fellows as part of our mid-year retreat. The goal of the panel could be whatever you want it to be! Who would you invite to this panel, and what kinds of questions would you want to ask?

      Interview

One day after submitting my application, I was contacted via email to set up a virtual interview with a recruiter. The interview was standard and not very specific to the role's responsibilities. Rather, I discussed my previous experience. The interview lasted about 1 hour.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GRID Alternatives in Jun 2025

      Interview

Very organized process, kept to their timelines. First was a screening with the recruiter then she told me I'd hear back in two weeks. Two weeks to the day I received an email that I'd been selected for an in person interview. Went to the local office to meet with the director and VP, thought the interview went very well. They told me they had two more interviews that week and then they were going to make a quick decision. By Friday, I had not heard anything and knew i didn't get the job. The following week the recruiter emailed me to say someone else had been chosen. I asked for feedback and was hardly given any. However, a day later the person I interviewed with reached out and explained in more detail their decision, which I really appreciated. He noted they were impressed with me and offered to help me find another job within the company. Overall, I thought the experience was positive and they didn't waste my time or drag me along.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What is the root cause of poverty? What type of manager do you like/need? How do you handle conflict on a team? Other more unique questions but I felt prepared by preparing the standard interview questions.
