GL.iNet UX / technical writer interview questions

Dishonest job ad, crass phone call, unfocused interview Got their initial phone call the day after I applied online. Their call was rather crass, the HR person only inquired about my current and expected salary and notice period. You would’ve thought they were conducting an HR market research - first red flag. 1 month of no reply later, they called for an interview - second red flag. In-person interview with 4 interviewers demanded high level strategies in company branding, SEO, social media marketing and writing, to even starring in on-camera video presenter! None mentioned in the highly UX-specific “UX and technical writer” job ad! Additionally, there was a distinct lack of UX focused questions. While they had the audacity to throw various scattered questions at you, they offered no introduction on their company, team order, project structure, or just any tangible goals. It also didn’t seem to me that soft skills was on any of their agenda. Overall, it was a distasteful and unfocused interview that speaks clearly about the company.
