I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at GIPHY in Nov 2018
Interview
Applied online and had an initial recruiter phone chat that went well - seemed like there was a fit on both sides (tech and culture wise). Next step was a lengthy HackerRank. After waiting about one week to give the team some time to review my code, I spent the following three weeks chasing after the recruiter for any updates on the status of my submission and candidacy. While he was responsive, it took the engineering team one month just to review my HackerRank submission. After my third time reaching out, my recruiter sent me email describing that the team finally reviewed my submission but there seemed to be a technical discrepancy for one of the problems that resulted in an incomplete submission to the problem. I made myself available to remedy the situation in any way, however, I received an automated rejection email a few days later.
