56 Days, 10 Hours of Interviews, Including an In-Person Visit - They Ghosted Me
I'll break down my interview process:
Day 1: Phone screen interview with typical questions. One interesting one of note was "What is your leadership style?"
Day 15: 30-minute interview that ran long with the hiring manager. Nice interview format, good questions in both directions.
Day 36: Panel interview with 3 leaders.
Day 41: Interview with peers. Two members on the invite did not show up. This was a great interview; it was very casual, and the conversation flowed.
Day 56: In-person interview. I'll provide feedback to leadership & other applicants below:
After about 2 months of interviews, I was invited for an in-person interview. No calendar invite was sent, no agenda was provided, just a "show up at 10 am."
I arrived & the front desk was not expecting me - not quite a warm welcome, but things slip through the cracks. It's understandable.
The contents of the in-person interview were standard: a panel interview with peers, followed by an additional interview with the hiring manager and lunch, followed by one more interview.
The process extended 1 hour beyond the stated time, but no complaints about the experience.
I would describe the Brentwood office as pretty sterile, but your typical corporate atmosphere. Cube farm situation, with break rooms on each floor. Recently renovated, but modestly furnished. Nothing flashy. It was a very quiet atmosphere, with folks independently working at their individual desks.
They said they would follow up by EOW. They did not. I sent a respectful follow-up, only to be ghosted by the organization.
Recommendation to leadership: Set the expectation with HR that each candidate who takes time out of their schedule for an in-person interview will be treated with courtesy and provided a prompt update on whether they will be receiving an offer or not.
