Company and internal recruiters like to ghost people. A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn for my resume and asked me to fill out an application on the company website. I never heard back from him or GEICO.

The interviewer mentioned I was the last call of the day and seemed eager to wrap things up quickly. The conversation felt disengaged, and there wasn’t much opportunity for a meaningful discussion about my qualifications.
At one point, I was even called the wrong name—not a simple mispronunciation, but a completely different name, which suggested a lack of preparation.
Most concerning was the interviewer’s unfamiliarity with the basics of the role. When asked if I was familiar with Adobe, I explained that I work daily in the full Creative Suite. It was clear from the response that the interviewer didn’t understand what that entailed, which made it difficult to have a productive conversation about the position.
I hope GEICO considers assigning interviewers who are better equipped to evaluate candidates for creative roles.
