Starting in July:
-15 minutes phone call with HR
-1 hour with hiring manager (Finance Director)
-1 hour with Analytics director
-1 hour with CFO
All gave me good feedback and ended the conversations with indications of moving forward.
Then I was told the position was on hold while the new CFO of 3 months assessed the team’s strengths, which I though was a great idea for her to do.
When the position was reposted, nobody contacted me with info, so I emailed the recruiter and hiring manager a few times. After about a month, the recruiter told me I was a front runner in the first round but they want to get a bigger candidate pool again after the hiring freeze. Fair point but the month of no communication was not very cool.
After another month, I still hadn’t received an update so I emailed the recruiter once a week and tried to contact the hiring manager a couple times to see if I was still being considered, or if I should do anything since I hadn’t spoken with anyone in about 3 months. The recruiter recommended being patient.
This trend of trying to contact the recruiter and hiring manager continue for months where I would try to get an update after a few weeks of silence but my emails get ignored.
The hiring manager never bothered to return an email during the entire process. The recruiter would respond, about 3-4 weeks after I started trying to get another update, on average.
Then I’m December, I received an automated email saying I was no longer being considered.
Nobody gave me a reason.
If the company operates the same way their interview process goes, it’s probably best not to work here, I guess!
Best of luck to anyone shooting for this job, though!
