      Web Applications Developer Interview

      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at Futurex (Austin, TX) in Jul 2017

      Interview

I applied through my college and was contacted soon after to apply formally through their careers website. One week later, I was asked to participate in a phone interview. The beginning of the interview went fine (I was asked about my interest in the company and to introduce myself, etc.). When they got to the more technical questions, I was a little thrown off. I applied for a Web Applications Developer, so I assumed I would be answering questions about web development. I was asked one question about JavaScript, one question about pointers in C, one question about garbage collection, and what was my favorite data structure. I was confused that they didn't really ask me questions related to the role I was applying for. The next day I was sent an email that they did not select me for the role.
