In early 2014 I was contacted by a recruiter and offered few positions that would be of interest, one of them later turned out to be Frontier Developments Halifax. I agreed and the interview process started.
Overall it took 2 skype interviews and a programming test in between. The test was of an average difficulty, so were the interviews. It seemed interviewers were mostly focused on my experience in the field and less on technical questions. I was left with generally good impression after the interviews. Some time after that I received the offer and accepted it; then the process of getting a work visa to Canada started.
The process was dragging on for almost 9 months and was nearing completion when In January 2015 I got a call from the recruiter who informed me that Frontier were closing down in Halifax and my services were no longer needed. That was when I was getting ready to leave and already informed my current employer that I would be leaving soon.
I tried to contact office manager in Halifax for comments, and after receiving no reply contacted Frontier COO David Walsh directly, since it was his signature on the copy of contract of employment I have. He never got back to me, but later I was contacted by their HR manager who offered "apologies for them having to withdraw their offer", and also suggested I took a look at the job openings at their Cambridge studio. After I replied, she got back to me saying she needs my recent CV to pass to their programming lead. I sent it to her and never heard from anyone at Frontier again.
