Had a phone interview and, after being asked for my salary expectation, I was told, “Well, that’s completely unrealistic.” Might be a good idea to advertise salaries, especially if they are lower than the average rate for Minnesota.

Three interviews. The first was just a screening one with HR, second was with two immigration attorneys and the last was a series of two (back to back), both were with two attorneys and one paralegal

Quite easy. I was called in for an interview with HR, and they asked me the usual questions about my experience, why I was interested, etc. I took a typing/proofreading test (10 minutes long). Two days later they called me back, and I met with the attorneys for whom I would be directly working and was given the opportunity to ask questions, get to know them better. The standard interview.
- Why are you interested in this position? How familiar are you with working with diverse clientele? What is your administrative background? How much legal experience do you have? What are your plans for the future?

Was very nontraditional; was basically a personal conversation like two new people meeting each other for the first time. No job related questions were asked. No idea why they even had this interview.

The HR department hookwinked me. They gave me no warning about the abusive behavior of the attorneys I would be working for. They told me a lateral move was available to employees during my interview. They later denied me that option when I asked to be transferred.
- They will ask you to recall a difficult work situation and how you handled it.

Applied on-line and wasn't called until 2 weeks later for an interview. Initial interview very informal basically going over resume and a personality assessment. Typing, legal terminology and proofreading tests were administered after the interview. Call back if you made it to second round, otherwise you were sent a letter in the mail.
