I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Fred Meyer Jewelers (Portland, OR) in Apr 2018
Interview
The first interview with the manager was very pleasent. The second interview with the other manager was awful. He brought up my outfit three times. He didn't think it was professional. (It was tan slacks and a button down shirt). The final time was when I asked him at the close of the interview if he had any advice. He looked at me and said: "Get yourself an outfit."
I found this very unprofessional. Mention it once. I aknowleged my mistake after the first time. What was I suppose to do while he literally nitpicked my clothes telling me what was wrong with them? The parting advice was insulting. I honestly felt a little objectified. I understand the need for appropriate clothes but to harp on it seemed pointless. It wasn't as if I could leave and change.
Other than that the interview was odd. He actually asked few questions and spent most of the time explaining to me how difficult the job was because everyone shops online now, and how the mall based stores don't do as well as the stores located in an actual Fred Meyer location. I appreciated the honesty about the challenging nature of the job, but between this and the fixating on my clothes I didn't see how he was figuring out of I were a good fit.
Easy sit down in person conversation, pleasant. Asked good questions, explained the job roll while including expecations, hours for working, Opportunities for growth, educational options. Looking forward to hearing back soon

Interview
So I received a phone interview (2 weeks after I applied) and the interviewer really liked me and said that she would send my info to the hiring manager. Now waiting for that interview.
