Reached out to CTO, and was invited for an on-site interview after a phone conversation. Looks like I did cut it, but the whole interview experience was pretty unprofessional and verifies some of the online criticism I heard about them. The interviewers were late and not prepared at all, and to top it all they did not provide any feedback, even when I asked for it.
