I applied online and received an email fairly shortly after asking me to complete a Wonderlic assessment involving cognitive ability, reasoning, and personality. I was then asked to do a Teams interview with a talent acquisition specialist, plus two more assessments. One was a personality assessment, and the other was a job-specific questionnaire that mainly involved rating my knowledge of technologies relating to the job.
I was then asked to come into their office for more assessments and an interview with department managers. This process took 2 hours. The assessments were another Wonderlic (seemed identical to the one I already did), a typing and 10-key test, and math and grammar. The interview, even though I was in the building, was still virtual. I was in a conference room with a TV. The other interviewers did not turn on their cameras, and no one introduced themselves at the beginning. The questions were pretty straightforward, mostly regarding my familiarity with specific technologies and past project involvement. One of the interviewers apparently walked away for a bit, then came back and started asking repeat questions. When he saw that I have not been working for the past few months, he asked if I was independently wealthy, which felt very inappropriate.
There was not a chance for me to ask questions at the end of the interview. I did not get a very inviting feel from the process, and all of the assessments felt a bit excessive. I feel the process could be modified based on the role being filled.
They were very interested in offering me the position, but I decided to turn it down. A couple hours after I turned them down, I got a call from one of my former supervisors saying they had called him to do a reference check. They definitely have some internal communication issues they need to resolve.
