I applied for a role at Fnality in November 2024 and was invited for an initial screening call with HR. This turned out to be, by far, the worst interview experience I have encountered.
From the outset, the HR representative was rude and unprofessional. There was no proper introduction - just a blunt opening question: âSo, what do you know about Fnality?â I remained polite throughout, answering all questions and providing relevant examples, only to be met with dismissive and uninterested responses such as âCool, ok.â The tone was condescending and completely unprofessional.
When the HR questions ended, I was abruptly told, âCool, so I want to move you to the next stage, which is a presentation task.â I noted that I also had some questions and took the opportunity to ask about the role and team, only to receive a vague and unconvincing response - one that suggested even they were unclear on the roleâs scope. Each time I asked a question, they seemed impatient to move on, as though my interest in understanding the position was an inconvenience.
Despite this, I completed the presentation task and was later informed they were impressed with my work and wanted to move forward with a technical interview. However, after reflecting on my experience - and following yet another disinterested and curt phone call from HR - I decided to withdraw my application.
To Fnality: Please show respect to your applicants. We invest significant time and effort in applying and preparing for interviews. The very least you can do in return is engage in a professional, two-way conversation rather than responding with a dismissive âcool.â I felt belittled during this process and could not imagine working for a company that treats people this way.
I sincerely hope this experience does not reflect Fnalityâs broader work culture. However, if you are serious about attracting top talent, I urge you to reconsider how you present yourselves from the outset. This experience signaled nothing but a toxic culture, and I was not willing to invest any more time in the process.
