I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Fnality in Aug 2019
Interview
Found significant differences/inconsistencies between the job description and content discussed in the interview. No structure to questioning, often found it drifting over topics with no connection to the business infrastructure or type of tech that might be used. Instead it seemed to emphasize superior knowledge of interviewers themselves, and when challenged about relevance of topics I was advised the questions are tended purely out of curiosity, without having any direct application to the role.
Also noted there would be a requirement for all roles to engage in "cross-working" with other "non-technical" departments, which would actually involve being moved to assist in the backlog of work for completely unrelated parts of the business - example supplied suggested being moved to the legal department to assist with proof reading of documentation (and as a developer I found this to be slightly odd). This is a practice adopted throughout the organisation and promoted as an opportunity to move outside comfort zones - but it did raise questions about boundaries of the role and responsibilities. Further received a technical challenge after the initial verbal interview, covered a range of software development questions.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. As an agile organisation we are always trying, testing and improving. In that regard, we wonder if you could let us know a little more about the role you applied for as we were not interviewing for Developers (we don’t have any roles of this nature) and we also weren’t using any agencies in August, so we are struggling to pinpoint where the issue may have arisen?
With regards to cross-working and developing T Shaped people, this is a core part of how our business operates and something we ensure everybody knows from the outset so there are no surprises. We are constantly testing our ways of working and iterating and have taken your feedback to the teams. This currently works really well for us and we find people who are open to these ways of working tend to really thrive here.
Thanks again for your feedback and feel free to get in touch directly if you would like to discuss any more. As mentioned we are not sure which role or interviews you are referring to in order to improve for others further.
