      IOS Developer Apprentice Interview

      20 Sept 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fetch (Chicago, IL) in Sept 2023

      Interview

Fetch will reach out to you will a take home test. It is a test where you pull data from two end points, parse it, and display the information. After they approve your take home test, they will schedule a technical interview going over your take home test. They will ask you questions about how you could have done network calls differently, JSON parsing, UITesting, etc. Ultimately, they are not looking for an apprentice to learn anything to do with swift or iOS development, they are looking for someone that is at a Junior Level that can learn how Fetch's dev team operates.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How could you have done the API call differently? What are some features you could have added to the app, and how would you go about integrating it? Etc.

      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Fetch (Salt Lake City, UT) in Jul 2021

      Interview

I applied online, and was sent a take home test with clear instructions and no time limit to finish. I finished the take home assignment, and then was advanced to a phone screen. In this phone screen, I was paired with an iOS developer that went over my project and asked me questions and helped me learn how to improve it. After that, I was advanced the the techincal interview. In this interview, I spoke with several iOS developers and went over swift, architecture, UIKit and how to communicate with UX. During this interview, at the end, I was given an offer for the position. All together, I LOVED the interview experience. It was rapid, respectful and I felt that they care about not only the end result, but how the interviewing process itself goes. They put a lot of work into it, I could tell.
