      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fetch

      Interview

Like everyone else has said, I got an email that said my resume looked good, and then immediately was given a coding assignment. I did well enough that they wanted me to come in for a day-long interview. First I had to work through how I'd design a screen, then I met someone non-technical, then I did a whiteboard leetcode session (completely useless to determine how well you'd do when designing a screen or a feature). Then at the end of the day when you're completely worn out, they do a live-coding problem solving exercise using a UI framework that I had no experience in.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Day-long interview. Each section dealt with some different stuff. Most of it not relevant to the day to day work except for the first part where we talked through how we'd design and build a particular feature.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Fetch (Charlotte, NC) in May 2026

      Interview

Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. He mentioned interview would be 3 rounds. 1-> live coding 2-> panel 3-> HM He set me up for a 1 hour live coding. A senior android engineer gave me a zip to download and sync on Android Studio. Instructions were very unclear in the code. Readme basically said implement this feature. But there were no TODO s or anything in the code. I asked him everything looks pre populated is there a section I should start with?? He sat there like a radio, refer to readme refer to readme refer to readme. Interviews should be bidirectional not a monologue. I implemented whatever was asked in 45 minutes ish. I communicated my ideas and thoughts and asked to him what he thought about it. Again he sounded like a broken radio. At that point I realized this dude himself doesn't care about this interview. Got rejection the next day. Standard of interview at this company is pretty low. No wonder they are rated 2. Lol

      Question 1

Implement a login feature on a pre populated code. Make the code better and write tests.

      Interview

I recently applied for a position and received an email a week later requesting I complete a take-home coding assignment. The task involved creating a simple app to display and sort text fetched from a REST API. There was no specific deadline for completion. After submitting the assignment, I was invited for a follow-up interview. I anticipated a technical discussion, perhaps involving enhancements to the app. However, the interview primarily focused on positive reinforcement. The interviewer repeatedly praised my work and inquired about potential improvements without delving into technical specifics. Despite the positive feedback, I did not receive any further communication regarding the next stage of the hiring process. I followed up with recruiters and schedulers but received no response. This lack of communication seems to be a recurring issue based on the experiences of others. While this approach may be the company's standard operating procedure, it leaves a negative impression. Such a lack of transparency and communication can be detrimental to the company's image and potentially indicate a lack of organization in their hiring process. In retrospect, this experience may have been a fortunate escape from a potentially disorganized work environment.
