I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Ferguson (Columbus, OH) in Sept 2024
Interview
I really hope this description gets seen by Ferguson because my interview process with this company was actually incredibly unprofessional. I’ll start by saying I applied for the outside sales rep position in July and did not hear back from a recruiter or manager until late August scheduling my first interview on the first week of September. I was told by the manager that I would hear back the following week on what the next steps would look like. I never heard back, I reached back out the following week to see where we were at and the manager verbatim in the email said “I would definitely be an asset to his team and would reach out the following week (again) with next steps. To my surprise the following week came by and this manager still never reached out to me. I contacted him again asking if I had missed something because I did not hear back from anyone. This manager gives me another response (2 weeks from my first interview) saying he has a meeting with his team specifically about me and that he would reach out before lunch on the same day. It ends up being 4:00pm and he finally calls me to let me know they decided to hire someone from within their company….I am honestly not sure if I have ever experienced this with a company and their interview process. I even had a company referral who just happens to be my best friend lol. If anyone is looking to apply here, definitely take anything they tell you with caution. Luckily I had other applications sent out elsewhere.

Interview
4 rounds of interviews including hiring manager and multiple different higher ups. 1 panel interview that consisted with behavior type questions and how to build relationships. Each interview was in person except for the panel interview which was over teams.
There is a self paced interview that you have to record yourself and answer questions. Which was off putting. Next step was in person at the Ferguson facility. I was then told even though it is an outside sales position that you wont work in outsides for at least 1-2 years. They prefer you to start inside and bounce around different roles.
