I applied through university. I interviewed at Factory Automation Systems (Atlanta, GA) in Nov 2021
Interview
The interview process began when I met employees at a career fair. They offered me to come into the office, and speak about the experiences on my resume and my knowledge on controls.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What your thought process would be to solve a problem if a machine is not functioning properly.
Overall very productive and concise interview. Very approachable and informative about the company and the work that would be done there. The interviewer was also knowledgeable about the subject matter of the job which made it much easier.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Factory Automation Systems (College Park, GA) in Jun 2018
Interview
I met the hiring manager at a career fair in March. I was told that they had a position available and that I would be a good fit. Several months later I came in for an interview. I spoke with the hiring manager about the position and went on an office tour. It was not highly structured. I was left alone with another employee to chat for some time before the hiring manager came back. After the office tour, there was another individual in the hiring manager's small office also waiting to be interviewed. We were left alone, together, in his office while he tended to duties. I then spoke with a senior engineer/project manager and was asked to look at a schematic and explain random symbols and talk about my interests. There was no structured Q & A.
The position I was applying for was not explained in great detail. I knew that it was off-site and part of a small contract job. It would not be as challenging as their main work doing machine design and programming. After speaking with the senior engineer, I went back into the hiring manager's office to talk salary and benefits. I told him my salary request which was received by a barking laugh and snarky comment. We wrapped up and I did not hear back.
