      Penetration Tester Interview

      13 Dec 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Remote
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FIT Solutions (Remote) in Nov 2022

      Interview

Edit: I reported the woman interviewing me as being incredibly "creepy" -- she kept asking me about my house, my address and a bunch of other personal questions. Obviously none of this had anything to do with the position. I made the point that if the genders were reversed that this would be considered harassment. If a 65 year old man did this to a woman in her 20s it would be a problem. At one point she complained that she was having difficulty pulling up my house. Yikes. Imagine being in an interview with someone 30 or 40 years older than you. Imagine they are asking you a bunch of personal questions and they literally pull up your house. It's just creepy. A woman followed up and starting to apologize until I said that I felt uncomfortable and that I didn't want anything to do with the company. Then she did a 180 and started to say that she listened to the interview and that it didn't happen. Aside from being gaslight it took up the majority of the interview. Its not something that you would miss. The woman obviously isn't bright and tried saying it was recorded. That's a really dumb thing to say because it's illegal to do that in my state. Then she contradicted herself in what amounted to her admitting it did happen. It's just a nightmare. HR can't plan one sentence ahead of the next. It's one thing to lie to me to try to save face. It's another thing to be so profoundly incompetent that you contradict yourself a few sentences later. Interview: Interview was pushed back. When CC got around to it she started the interview late and then ended it early. She was already in a bad mood and I knew right away I wasn't going to get it. She was sort of rude and snarky. I don't really know why. She doesn't seem like someone that I'd want to work with, to say the least. You know the type. The interview process was supposed to be three parts : an intro, a technical and a presentation. You have to make a ten minute presentation of yourself. No, I am not joking. The technical was kind of funny. This is a position for a penetration tester. I was asked "what makes a strong password." Seriously. Aside from that there isn't really much to say. I've never ran into this level of unprofessionalism. It was basically a hat trick of creepiness and incompetence. Why would you rely on a company like this for your income? It reminds me of the types of jobs you'd get as a kid. The whole point of going to school and working hard was to avoid places like this. Unless I was on an H1B and was fired from Twitter I would never consider working here after this fiasco. You'd have to be truly desperate.
