Mixture of technical and competency questions. Used the Star technique to answer those. They brought out a p&id and asked me to explain the process. Also asked about pumps and fluid flow.

Interview
First stage is to do a test, then if pass you get selected for a video interview. Video interview is about an hour, is very technical, few competence questions to start then technical. Then final stage is assessment centre which is a games based and team working based assessment, no intevriew or anything Technical questions typically involve application questions regarding a distillation column or a heat exchnger, these are the most common topic choices, so need full understanding of these.

Why exxon? What can you bring? Talk about previous experience? What do you know about heat exchangers? Where can you place a CO sensor in a furnace? How does a shell and tube heat exchnger work?

Submitted CV and did online tests, followed by online interview with 2 employees with both behavourial and technical questions. After that received offer for assessment centre at Fawley refinery which involved site tour and group activity followed by short presentation of the results of the group activity after.
