I had an interview process with Exsolvæ, including an interview with a manager. Most of that interview was conducted in French, and I have C2-level French proficiency. Some time later, I received feedback saying they could not move forward due to client language requirements and a stated mismatch regarding availability, although I had clarified during the interview that I was available immediately.
In a follow-up message, I was told that they could only consider me for English-speaking projects, and that even in such a case a commitment to learning “French or Dutch” would be a requirement. This was surprising, given that French is already one of my working languages and had been used throughout most of the interview.
Overall, the communication felt inconsistent and inattentive to the actual exchange, particularly regarding my availability and language profile.
