I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Express (Key West, FL) in Jan 2012
Interview
Asked character, customer service & ablity to mutli-task questions. It was a one on one interview in a quiet setting in the back of the store with the Store Manager who set the tone in a positive, comfortable way, as I was able to explain my reasons why I chose this company to apply to instead of other retailers, on top of another job I was working. I think after some "regular" conversation time, he was able to get an idea of my character, how I presented myself & if I would be a match with the other associates & be a great fit to help the guests who would be coming into the store. This was a great company to begin retail in & is still highly recommended in my opinion.
I first applied online, and then I got an interview date and time, and then I went into the location for the interview. After that I just waited for a little bit of time and then I was sent an offer that I signed
Applied online, interviewed in person the next day. Interview was basically a vibe check. More important to apply during peak season (early spring or early fall) when they're hiring the most. Make sure you have availability on the weekend.
Easy and straight forward interview. They ask for your availability and if have fashion experience. Also, asks about previous sales and customer service experience. The job itself is not hard at all.
