I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Eventbrite (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2018
Interview
I interviewed with a recruiter, then a phone call with the hiring manager which all went well. After that, they gave me a design challenge that I was supposed to complete in 3 days. Now, giving a design challenge to a candidate and not paying them for their time is a bit questionable considering pretty much everyone has a daily job while also interviewing. Some people even say this is immoral. I did the challenge anyway, and submitted it on time. I got a cold generic rejection email from the recruiter a couple days after without any feedback. I found this very unprofessional and unfair. This is not how you should treat candidates who spent 3 days on a design exercise. At least have the decency to give solid feedback along with your rejection letter. When I asked for feedback from the recruiter, she sent me a typed up response that didn't make any sense. I'm sure she took some note while talking to the hiring manager and without even understanding what she was typing, sent it over to me. Very disappointed.
