      Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Evanta

      Interview

I went through 4 stages of interviews: two with the recruiter, one with the hiring manager, and one with a team member currently in the role. The first three stages went smoothly, but the final interview with the team member was uncomfortable and unprofessional. The interviewer appeared dismissive and gave the impression that she was unhappy with the fact that I am not a native English speaker. Throughout the interview, she repeatedly rephrased my responses in a way that felt patronising and disrespectful. Additionally, on two occasions, she left the interview to collect packages, which I found inappropriate. If time was an issue, the interview should have been rescheduled. After the process, I received feedback stating that I was not a good fit for the team. This was not surprising, as it was evident that the team is composed of individuals with a very similar cultural background, which I do not share. The initial recruiter interviews focused heavily on Gartner's values, with questions requiring STAR method responses. If you answer robotically, you will meet their expectations. However, in the later stages, the questions became more ambiguous. I would recommend asking the interviewers a lot of questions to better understand what they are really looking for. Ultimately, my experience suggests that unless you fit a specific background, your chances of being seriously considered are limited.
