I applied for Center Manager and they asked me if I would be interested in Assistant Manager, which I said yes to. Their interviews are a four part process: an initial phone interview, a second phone interview, and two in person interviews. I spent a little over a month completing the first three steps because there was so much time in between. Prior to the third interview, they sent me a script to memorize. Basically it was what to say to first time customers, sort of a sales pitch about their products and wax packages. I worked so hard on memorizing it because that’s what I was told to do. However, in the interview I was only asked to give a general summary of what the paper said. After spending so much time in the interview process, I received an email saying that they weren’t moving forward with me. Fine, that’s part of the job hunting process, but it’s a bit frustrating after spending so much time and putting so much effort into everything. It was suggested to me by someone that I may not have “the look” to work at EWC. I can’t say if this is true or not, but if you make it to the in person interviews, I recommend wearing makeup and painting your nails at least. I was interviewed by the DM who had acrylic nails, lash extensions, bleach blonde highlights, a deep tan, etc. I don’t think my natural look impressed her, which in hindsight makes sense for a place like EWC. Oh well, you live and you learn!
