      Java API Developer Interview

      17 Jan 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berlin
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Europace (Berlin)

      Interview

They first contacted me for a phone call, unusual i prefer to see people in face but maybe being 9 in the morning it was better like this. The HR was super nice and competent. The she sent me a coding challenge and here comes the problem. It seems an easy task but there are no instructions on how high you have to aim, how much complexity and logic you need to have. Luckily i found some other people solution on GitHub and this gave me an idea but still. They tell you to complete it in 2hr but then they ask for a complexity that is not possibile in 2hr. I should have taken more time, it was not checked.

Thank you for your constructive feedback, which we appreciate and take seriously. Of course, we would like to meet you in person as well, but we hold our initial interviews by phone and in advance remotely by MS-Teams. The coding-challenge gives us insight into: What is important to you in your work and how do you go ahead with it? Time wise you should not spend more than 2-3 hours, we are sorry that this assessment was not workable for you. We will look internally at possible improvements in relation to the task. Thank you for your time and we wish you all the best for your future. Romina (Recruiting Lead @europace)
