I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Etsy
Interview
The recruiter is very nice and follows up in a timely manner. The interview process was moderate but some of the questions being asked can definitely see if you fit in this role, not just short term but long term as well. I did not get an offer but did learn during the interview
Interview process was handled in a haphazard manner. They got in touch a fairly long while after I had applied, sent a test and then never got back in touch. Despite multiple follow ups, management was fairly unresponsive.
Thank you for your feedback, though we’re of course disappointed to know you didn’t hear back from your recruiter. We appreciate you letting us know. We are constantly reviewing and improving our process to ensure the best possible experience for all of our candidates.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Etsy
Interview
I did a couple of phone screens, then they asked me to do an "assignment" (aka free work) as a test. Though they described it as a short exercise, it ended up taking several hours. Not only that, I had to sign up to be an Etsy seller in order to complete the assignment. This meant handing over my bank details and paying to post an item. When I turned it in, they took more than a week to respond. Only after I followed up did they send me a form letter saying I didn't get the job. When I asked for feedback on my assignment, they never responded. In their form letter, they pushed me to sign up for a job board that they're partnered with. Shortly after, I started getting emails from that job board, so I'm pretty sure they gave my email address away too.
I came into the process very excited, but I left feeling used. This is a company that will ask you for hours of free work, but can't be bothered to write one sentence of feedback on it.
