      Interview

After a successful phone interview, I met with 3 different club managers and had the opportunity to speak with the Regional manager as well. All were extremely personable and welcoming. All spoke to the club's culture, inclusivity, the need for hustle and the team work ethic.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Equinox (Bethesda, MD) in Jul 2017

      Interview

I got an email from corporate the same day and scheduled a phone interview for the following day, and an in person interview soon after. They were very speedy with moving the process along.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The first interview with HR was standard, no red flags - however the interviewer was not too personable. The second interview with a sales manager was a relaxed coversation, however, I felt he was over-selling the position a bit. The third interview was startling with club management who informed me my certs, experience, and enthusiasm for fitness did not interest him as much as my ability to sell luxury goods - which communicated to me they were more concerned with the end sale than the process of asking the right questions, providing insight, and meeting the needs of their customer. He made the point that past reps who sold designer bags interest him more - because they know luxury.
