I interviewed for a Customer Success Manager role in Sydney. The interview process was initially smooth, and all the interviewers, including the HR contact, were friendly and pleasant to speak with.
For the third round, I was asked to prepare a presentation deck and participate in a roleplay exercise. This required a significant amount of time and effort to both create the deck and prepare for the presentation. The third interview lasted about one hour and was quite involved.
However, despite the effort and time invested, I never received any update after the third round. I followed up with the HR contact based in Austin, but unfortunately did not receive any response.
While I understand that not every candidate will be selected, completely ignoring a candidate after such a time intensive process is unprofessional. Not surprisingly, I came across a few similar experiences shared by others, it seems candidate ghosting is a pattern here.
