      Graphic Designer Interview

      19 Feb 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Emma

      Interview

BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE: This company uses Cognitive Assessment tests (IQ tests, essentially) to do an initial filtration of potential candidates. So be aware of that. Insanely unfair in 2024. Firstly, the interview process wasn't as described in the careers' website of said employer. It started off with a simple interview, of 30 minutes, where questions about my professional timeline were made. It was relatively simple and not intimidating at all. After said interview, I got notified that I had advanced, which was fun, until I saw a whole PDF file with TWO (yes, you heard it correctly) two creative tasks, one of them containing 3 sub-tasks besides a key-visual. After putting together a PDF presentation, I then had another interview, in this case with someone from the Design department, where I had the opportunity to present my intentions. Everything was going smoothly, although quite tough on the amount of work given to me without no compensation. I then had advanced to a THIRD one-hour interview with a bunch of on the spot questions, mini case studies, and still, everything felt pretty normal. After a few days, I got an email update on my application that, in 4 very generic lines, told me I wasn't fit, and they had chosen another person for the role. Just like that. No personal feedback about my work or any of my interviews, just a cold email of 4 lines. All this to say: if you're going to put anyone through these many meetings, interviews and tasks, at least be a tad bit more careful and thoughtful in the way you then tell them they weren't a fit, as the way they did this time around doesn't resonate at all with the values the company seems to preach.

      Question 1

If you were a teacher, what would be the name of your class and name 3 lessons you would lecture about in said class. Gave me about 2 minutes to come up with an answer.

      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Emma (Lisbon, Lisbon District)

      Interview

No feedback after the interview. The interviewer was not very welcoming, but not rude either. It was an ok experience. Had to talk in English (we were both portuguese) for the whole time, which i understand.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Emma (Lisbon, Lisbon District)

      Interview

The interview didn't match the job description, they asked me to develop a marketing strategy regarding their products in a sales perspective, making it really confusing for me as to what the end goal of the interview was to them.

      Graphic Designer Interview

      11 Mar 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Frankfurt am Main
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I interviewed at Emma (Frankfurt am Main)

      Interview

The interview process was fairly well done. I had a first meeting online with the teamlead to know each other a bit, after which I had a one day trial in location. Here I was given a couple of fun tests to resolve and an overview of my tasks.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was asked questions about the work shown in my portfolio, to better explain my thought processes
