I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Elsevier (Chennai) in Apr 2019
Interview
Applied through an online portal. They conducted a written test and a telephonic round and I was also told that a one on one round will be scheduled anytime soon. Then one day they called and told that my job was almost confirmed. I WAS SHOCKED! They had asked me about my previous company and I had mentioned them clearly that I do not possess a PF account and my previous company was a start-up. They agreed with everything and told me that my one on one interview is scheduled on a date and informed me that I would receive my interview confirmation mail soon. But I didn't receive anything. I didn't want to bother them either. But on the scheduled interview day, I called the company regarding the confirmation mail, but to my surprise, they had told me that I need to have a PF account and then only they would provide me employment and they cannot help it and it was also not their mistake. Such WORST HR team and WORST MANAGEMENT.
The company may be good in other countries, but the Chennai Office is really really BAD.
NEVER APPLY FOR THIS COMPANY!!
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Elsevier (Chennai) in Nov 2024
Interview
Average pre-assement test. However, took three weeks for them to provide the result after three email follow ups. Two email writings and a phone call. Difficulty level is average if you are prepared already.

Question 1
Q: Write an email welcoming a new member to your team?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Elsevier (Chennai)
Interview
The interview process consists of 3 steps. 1st is the ability to test communication through email writing and a short phone conversation. If we are through then the 2nd round is with the team manager. 3rd round is with the director or manager. Most of the questions are behavioral to be answered in STAR format. They drill every bit and when we feel that our interview has gone well, they reject us. Sometimes there is a strong feeling that some inside lobbying is happening and the hiring manager has already decided whom they have to hire. They simply choose few profile and conduct interview for the sake of being professional. They don't reply soon. They take a long process to show off that they are the best and treat candidates at the worst possible manner not giving respect to their time of wait. My interview process with Elsevier is the worst so far and if any person from Elsevier come across this post, they must seriously look into the whole Elsevier hiring process which is highly suspicious and completely mysterious.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Elsevier (Chennai) in Feb 2023
Interview
Slow process took more than a month. Let go of other opportunities to pursue this only to be rejected in the final technical round for no clear reason. There is lack of feedback as well clarity regarding expectations.
