Interview
It was a three step process. First was conversation over the phone, took about 10 minutes, it was informative and professional, at the end we scheduled an in-person interview. Second part was with HR manager, very nice person was asking application centered questions, they were on point and not overly challenging. Third part was with a current employee, a repair technician, at the start he was asking the same questions that were asked and answered before several times, then he wanted to establish some baseline as to what level of experience I have. He provided with a list with 7 tasks, and I made clear to him (shortly before that too) that I don’t have a lot of experience with a topic of one of the task, I made it clear to him that it will take me more time (more than average) to complete it, so knowing all that he challenged me with 2 (out of 7) most laughable and ridiculous task imaginable for this position, one can take it as a for of insult really. I mentioned several times that I can do any of the rest of the tasks, as they were far more interesting and provided some challenge. Also want to mention waiting times, that was somewhat disrespectful, because every time I was given a task I had to wait for the interviewer to come back for 40-50 minutes (mind you that tasks themselves were solvable within 5 minutes). After completing each of task I was trying to make clear to the interviewer that I want to do and show more, but those requests were disregarded. I think they have decided that I’m not a good fit for them at some stage between 2 and the 3 step, but why waste time then ? Interviewing process definitely needs to be optimized and maybe next time actually listen to the people you are interviewing.
