      Senior macos engineer Interview

      28 Oct 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Egnyte (Bengaluru) in Oct 2025

      Interview

The interview was scheduled for 1 hour and 15 minutes, but it extended to over 2 hours and 20 minutes. Despite the extended duration, the interviewer’s approach felt somewhat dismissive at times, which left me uncertain about the purpose of continuing for so long if the outcome was predetermined. After two follow-ups, I received a rejection, but without any formal communication or constructive feedback. I genuinely appreciate the time invested by the interviewer; however, I would like to understand why such lengthy discussions are conducted if the candidate is not being considered further. If the conversation lasted that long, it likely meant there was potential worth exploring — perhaps even another round to better assess my capabilities. Additionally, I believe that candidates deserve a clear and respectful closure. A formal rejection email with brief feedback would go a long way in maintaining professionalism and goodwill, especially considering the effort and preparation that goes into each interview. That too, a formal rejection email only after two follow-ups.
