Two interviews with recruiter, which were fine. Long delay (no problem) then they set up one interview with a VP. Great. Day before, I get a message asking why I didn't "show up" for second interview with a different VP. What?? Apparently admin sent me an email that I never received (I have Gmail filters). Had no idea it was ever sent, and apparently they don't use "read receipts." Then apparently the same admin sent a follow-up, which I also never saw. So instead of reaching out a different way (my phone number is right on the resume and my recruiter can always reach me), they went ahead with the scheduled "interview" that I never knew about, didn't respond to, and never accepted. I think the admin simply forgot to follow up and was probably too embarrassed to admit that. OK, it happens, and even that I can understand. But...then they blamed me--for not attending an interview I had no idea existed. This one was 100% on them, and not only did they not apologize for their mistake, they tried to make it my fault. Sorry, no. If that is their culture, then I consider this a bullet dodged. Horrendous reflection on their culture but thank you for the insight.
