Econstruct interview questions

Interview process was ok, however I was asked to do an assessment (which requires sourcing actual potential candidates from Linkedin, doing case study, etc.). My concern was after doing the assessment, they told me my background experience does not fit for the position which already was noted during the screening process. It was unprofessional, because it appeared I was rejected from the beginning, but they just needed to get some work done by candidates.
