      Channel Sales Manager Interview

      9 Oct 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Easy Pay Direct (Austin, TX) in Oct 2024

      Interview

It starts off pretty standard, then goes off the rails... It started with a video screen. Then they ask you to take a DISC assessment. Then an interview with the CEO. Then before a second interview with the CEO they ask you to take a technical skills assessment. This is where things go sideways... The assessment has multiple, time consuming tasks that have little to nothing to do with the actual role: 1. Figure out how to set up a demo account, 2. Download a zip file of 20 documents. Organize them however you see fit. Use folders. Share the folders. 3. Click on a fake website, create a button, publish the site 4. Typing test. You'll have to watch ads to get the results. Take a screenshot and find an image service to upload it to, copy and paste the link 5. Find a voice recorder app/program and create an MP3 of you telling about your most embarrassing moment. 6. Create from scratch a Standard Operating Procedure Document that outlines step by step exactly how to troubleshoot their system, add pictures. 7. Upload a video of yourself answering a prompt After well over an hour spent on this bizarre tech scavenger hunt, I simply decided the position wasn't worth it. If you don't complete the assessment, you're automatically disqualified.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Bizarre technical skills assessment that takes hours and has nothing to do with the job you're applying for. Total waste of time just to be considered with the other applicants.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about our interview process, specifically regarding the technical assessment we ask all candidates to complete. Our goal is to ensure candidates are equipped with the skills needed for the role and to assess their comfort with the tools and processes integral to our work. Each task is designed to simulate real-world scenarios our team faces, focusing on problem-solving, attention to detail, creativity, organization, and effective communication—skills that are essential in our fast-paced environment.
