The EarthScope interview process was frustrating. It felt like HR showed favoritism in who they selected to interview, and the outcome seemed geared toward internal hires. Going through three rounds ended up feeling like a waste of time.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at EarthScope Consortium (Washington, DC) in Apr 2023
Interview
There were a total of around three interviews; a phone screen, a panel interview, and a technical interview. Everyone was really nice, they do very interesting work and seem like they are running very clean tech.

Interview
I had a phone screen with an HR Generalist. Lasted about an hour. I was told the day after my interview I was advancing to the second and final round of the interview only to have the recruiter and two hiring managers backtrack and not have the second interview with me. They asked for additional information on my resume via email which I provided and shortly thereafter they rejected my application and for a second round interview even though I had it scheduled.
