It felt like the interviewer wanted me to prove my Catholicism, which was disappointing. If I identify as Catholic and am actively practicing, that should be sufficient. Taking on additional roles just for the sake of appearances—rather than authentically living out the faith—feels disingenuous and even more concerning. This experience made me realize that a company with this mindset may not be the right fit for me. This is exactly how great candidates get overlooked. And realistically, if I were that deeply involved in church activities, I wouldn’t have the time to commit to a job like this anyway.
