There was an initial email contact to set up an interview that was conducted as a conference call with multiple employers on the phone simultaneously. They asked questions regarding relevant background and research, interest in the field, particular questions about previous work experience, and also spent time discussing the available position and their hiring timelines.

They asked for a detailed description of my dissertation and the statistical analysis used although it had been written quite a few years ago.
I joined a few years ago. The interview process took all day, included a job talk and meetings with about 15 potential colleagues and managers. It gave me a pretty good idea who I will be working with and on what, as well as of the personalities of the managers.

Called for 30 minute interview. The interview was good. Interesting questions. Interviewed with two people. Looked like they are interviewing several people and asking standardized questions. Hard to tell where one stands in process. At end of interview, they stated they were still interviewing candidates and someone would provide updates for all candidates in future.

Initial meeting with a single person, then a day with several interviews with groups of scientists and engineers. Nothing very technical, mostly just casual research discussions to get a feel for the company/your skills.
