ESS Inc. interview questions

Interviewed with 5 people remotely from Head of Sales, VP of Sales, Engineering, Product, and other sales people. Range of friendly to pushy individuals but they seemed knowledgeable. All in all, seemed like a company that was in start up mode even though they're listed on NYSE.

As far as I know, ESS is advertising to hire a data scientist since 2023. They have not hired anyone yet because 1) they don't know what data science or machine learning is; they learn from you; 2) they expect to find someone who has already understood what they are doing and what their technical problems are, especially in the R&D section. After five rounds of interviews, I am convinced that they never hire anyone because they don't know what data science is; they cannot realize an eligible applicant, and there is no data scientist outside who has experienced their R&D problems. In all interviews, they ask rudimentary questions and cannot evaluate your skills and knowledge. I promise they will never hire anyone. I bet.
