I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Dusty Knuckle (London, England) in Apr 2026
Interview
It was supposed to be an informal chat over the phone with one of the founders. It quickly turned into one of the worst interviews I have ever endured.
Founder was late for the interview, apologised, then followed with “I’ve seen your CV, I wouldn’t hire you, here’s why. Now you have 20 minutes to prove me wrong”
From that intro I knew it would never work. But I tried to stay professional and at least finish the chat.
It just got worse, honesty jumped over the line into plain rude, it was the worst interview of my life. Judgemental, rude, ignorant and shocking that this was coming from one of the founders. Someone who represents not just the business but also the teams.
I left shocked, saddened that I had to be put through that awful interview and amazed that any adult would speak so badly towards a candidate.
I really do hope this was a one off and that other candidates or employees are not treated in the same way.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Dusty Knuckle
Interview
The process was human centred and conversational. It was informed by those with lived experience. Following in informal conversation, there were two rounds, including a presentation. The interview panels included Directors, future colleagues and the youth advisory board.
