Very disappointed with the overall process, particurarly considering the senior level of this role. Despite being prepped for an interview, I was contacted with only a couple of days before the interview to be told the role had gone in a different direction. It has not, and someone else was offered before I had the chance to be interviewed. This happens of course, however the HR team need to be clearer with applicants - and provide clarity on why interviews do not continue. This only impacts on the company's reputation as an employer.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Doterra (Pleasant Grove, UT) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was very friendly, and I spent the first 15 minutes asking about my scientific background. They showed a genuine interest in my work. The questions were well thought out for my interview and felt tailored to really understanding me and my specific experience.

Interview
This was the worst interview experience I’ve ever experienced… from communication issues to delayed responses to confusing and lacking information… I would stress to anyone looking at this company to approach this company with caution
I had a first and 2nd round interview with this company. All seemed to be going well. The day after my initial interview with the hiring manager I was informed he was leaving the company and that this position would be moved to a new hiring manager.
A week later I was asked to compose and email with information that would help the new decision makers understand my strategic thinking, etc… I spent over 2 hours on said email. I was never informed if the email was received/read/considered in the slightest.
After a week of not hearing anything I reached out and was told that they spoke of me and needed more time before making any decisions… that’s fine… but I was left to wait for 3.5 weeks only to be told that I wasn’t what they were looking for all of a sudden. I wasn’t given any feedback further… I went from a viable candidate to someone not even worth an interview with the new hiring manager. Today I saw this same position re-posted on LinkedIn. Sorry but this is tacky to me.
If this is how this person runs her department then she did me a HUGE favor… at least give those of us putting ourselves out there time and again the respect of more feedback on what exactly wasn’t meeting your standards.
