Started off with a 20 minute recruiter call, and then a 48-hour turnaround take-home case study. Two 30-minute interviews after with a senior manager on different teams. One to talk about strategic thinking, and the other to review your case study. Final round with greater team.
I applied online. I interviewed at DoorDash in Feb 2025
Interview
Take home case study immediately after recruiter call. 48 hour deadline, expects a 4-6 page PDF executive-level deliverable making actionable business recommendations for DoorDash, based on a month of DoorDash order data. Expects high-level data & statistical analysis along with strong operational & strategic recommendations, plus polish. Complete ~~malarkey~~ for this to come before even a single interview. I spent ~20 hours on the project and was extremely proud of what I put together, didn't get an interview. This is also after the interview exclaimed about how good of a fit I would be. Seen other people saying it's just for DoorDash to get free consulting, seems outlandish but kind of hard not to agree after this. Whether it's legit or not, the expectation of this level of deliverable is ridiculous for almost any position, especially an associate level role. And the timing of it in the interview process makes it doubly insane.
The process starts with a standard recruiting screen where you learn about the role and discuss your potential fit with the recruiter. Then you complete a two day take home exercise based on a data set that they provide.
