The interview process was poorly communicated and lacked structure from the outset. I was invited on-site for what was described as a director interview, with no indication that this was simply an informal screening or part of a multi-stage process.
On arrival, the meeting was framed as “just putting a face to a name,” with the suggestion that a more detailed interview would follow if successful. This should have been made clear in advance, as it significantly changes how a candidate prepares.
Despite investing time researching the company and preparing for a competency based discussion, the interview itself was superficial and did not meaningfully assess my skills or experience. The conversation largely consisted of me attempting to explain my background, with little structured questioning from the interviewer.
I received a rejection email the following day with no personalised feedback. Given the lack of depth in the interview, it was unclear how any informed decision could have been made.
Overall, the process felt disorganised and dismissive of the candidate’s time and effort. Clearer communication and a more structured approach are needed to provide a fair and professional candidate experience.
