I applied through university. I interviewed at Dollar General in Mar 2017
Interview
I started the interview process with one on my college campus, after that i was invited for an onsite interview at the corporate headquarters. The overall interview process went very smoothly and I didn't get any question I wasn't prepared for. Everyone I met was genuine and truly cared to listen to everything I had to say.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General (Goodlettsville, TN) in May 2019
Interview
Three rounds of interviews (HR Screen, Phone Interview, On-site)
Total process was very efficient and positive.
Advice would be to contact HR directly via email or phone and not rely on job application submitted through website or third-Party site.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General
Interview
They found my profile online and contacted me for the job. I had a quick 15 minute talk over the phone with an HR representative about the job and about my experience. Then I had a 30-45 minute conversation on the phone with two people from demand chain, they asked me normal interview questions such as my background and my skills and traits. They told me about the job and let me ask some questions. It was fairly laid back, they were very friendly and personable. Then I came to the headquarters for two separate interviews with three different people in each interview. The questions were similar to the phone interview questions but a little more specific such as my knowledge of Excel. It wasn't too hard though and they were very friendly. I received a call about three days later and they told me I had the job but only gave me three or four days for a reply.
Overall, it was a great experience and it wasn't too difficult and was done quickly.
