      Senior SQL Back-end Developer/Administrator Interview

      24 Nov 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Jacksonville, FL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Discovertec (Jacksonville, FL) in Oct 2016

      Interview

First, HR assistant gave me simple C# test instead of T-SQL one (per job's description). Second, I waited about 15-20 minutes for those folks to come after I completed that test. Finally they came and asked me several questions about my current job, what I do, my responsibilities and what I was looking for at DiscoverTec. I've answered their questions, then I've asked mine, e.g. what was the architecture of their data centers, how their SQL servers were configured, what SQL services they were running, was there some HADR availability and its implementation. Yet, the interviewer (high level position) either could not answer my questions or he simply decided not to elaborate on that, which made the entire interview somewhat uncomfortable and confusing, especially when he stated that SQL server administration was done by front-end developers and we should have asked them. Seriously? Well, that summed it up. Thanks.
