I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Direct Surety (Foster City, CA) in Apr 2015
Interview
I applied for an Administrative Assistant position and was contacted for a short telephone interview within about a week. I was then invited in for an interview with the hiring manager and a few team members. First, I received an email from Druml company for which I had not applied which seemed suspicious to me. Apparently this company has two names. Druml and Direct Surety. As I opened the office suite door, immediately there's the office and reception area. I introduced myself to the gentleman at the front desk and said I was there to see Mr. X. I waited less than 5 minutes. Mr. X arrives for an introduction. I was offered water as we walked through the small office over to the conference room. Mr. X asked a few questions about how my previous supervisor's would rate my performance, we chatted about my experience and background, and the specific job responsibilities. Mr. X decided to call in one of the team members to meet me. It was clear to me that this woman had absolutely no idea that she would be called upon to participate in an interview. Mr. X asked her if she had any questions, she said, " I haven't even seen her resume" as she reviews my resume, a few moments of silence allows me to ask a few questions about their needs and a typical work day, etc. and then I am asked a question about a short- term assignment? I have over 10 years of experience in Administrative and Support and you ask about a 2 month assignment? She asked if I paid money to get that job? I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I left feeling that my interview did not go well at all. These folks are inexperienced, and lack professionalism. The vibe in the office was not upbeat or welcoming at all. People really do not appear to like the job.
