The DO interview process is the absolute best.
Once your application is put under consideration, you are contacted by the HR for an initial introductory round. This round is very casual and the Recruiter discusses about the position and throws some light about the work culture of the company. He also assesses you based on your communication skills and overall personality. (30-45 mins)
After the HR round, you have an initial screening round, where one of the higher ups, mostly a manager, will take your interview. He might ask you a few technical questions related to Linux or Cloud and a few situational questions on customer issues and tickets. (45mins)
After the screening round, you have an Overall Fit round, where you are assessed if are a good fit for the company. The interviewer for me was the Director of Customer Support herself. She asked me to introduce myself and it was more like a casual conversation rather than an actual interview. Not very technical, but you must exhibit exceptional work ethics. (30-45 mins)
Next up, we have the Technical Round. This is basically the last interview round and and frankly the round that will land you a job at DO. It's purely a technical round, you'll be interviewed by one of the most experienced and skilled people at DO. They will ask you questions about anything from Linux, Servers, DNS, Cloud instances. I was asked a lot of situational questions. Just don't panic and take your time to think properly and answer. (45 mins)
After the technical round, if you get selected, the recruiter will get in touch with you to discuss about your package and a list of benefits provided to the employees based on your region. After a few days you finally receive your offer letter. (30 mins)
Additionally, I wanted to share that the recruitment and onboarding processes are very smooth. I felt so welcomed and comfortable throughout the process.
IMO this has been the best interview experience for me.
