      Interview

I interviewed with multiple roles at DigitalOcean. SRE second interview went well and I was told I will receive email with take home assignment and will be invited to the final loop interview. A week after I followed up and they say I'm no longer being considered. Also other roles that I interviewed totally ghosted me. Overall other interview experience and their communication was poor and disconnected. Random engineers that interviewed me were fine though. I won't recommend anyone I know to choose DigitalOcean anymore.

      Interview

It took pretty long for the first response to my application. I didn't expect an answer anymore. 1. 30 min chat with the hiring manager 2. 30 min chat with the team manager After the first two chats, they decided to hand out a coding challenge that initially felt pretty simple to me, but there were some issues to tackle with scaling and performance. The challenge had to be solved within four hours during the following week. They reviewed the challenge and scheduled two technical and one behavioral interview. 1. behavioral (amazon style) 2. general technical discussion 3. discussion about my challenge solution There was no live coding session in leetcode style. I received a very satisfying offer that was contingent on a background check.

      Question 1

What would you do if the requests increase drastically? How would you scale the service? How would you know that you have to scale the service?

      Interview

All the interviews were very pleasant and felt more like a conversation than an interview. I felt connected and liked all interviewers, and decided to say yes when I've got the offer. I had 5 interview rounds and a take home exercise. The first two with HR and the hiring manager, the last three were technical with tons of behavioural type of questions related to tech decisions. My recruiter sent me a detailed interview prep which was very helpful, I recommend spending the majority of the time to make the assignment great by checking all the boxes and freshen your memory and come prepared for the behavioural interview (similar to Amazon's behavioural interview).
