Applied online but had an internal connection reccomendation to go with my application.
Received an email from the technical recruiter about 8 days later requesting a phone interview.
Met with the technical recruiter a week later and reviewed my background and fit for the position. Everything was going very well until we got to the point of talking about salary.
At that point he asked me what my expectations were for salary, and I responded that with my extensive experience I would expect to be at the upper end of the pay range they had posted with the position.
He proceeded to tell me that Dexcom NEVER pays at the upper end of the pay range for ANYONE, and that they only post the pay range because it's required by law, but the never intend to follow it.
The recruiters enthusiasm for my candidacy immediately fell off, and he stated he would need to talk with the hiring manager about the pay difference.
I followed up by email multiple times but never received a reply from the recruiter.
A month and a half later I get an automated email from the company saying they hired another candidate and the position was closed.
